Record numbers of technicians trained underlines value of learning skills to industry

Andrew Page Ltd, one of the UK's fastest growing car and van parts distribution businesses, continues to see record numbers of technicians completing its Auto Education division's training courses.

Andrew Page Ltd has committed to providing training programmes for vehicle technicians and the company's Auto Education training arm has provided technicians courses for over 640 candidates so far this year exceeding the 500 candidates trained in 2010. With DEFRA imposing new regulations governing the repair and servicing of mobile air conditioning systems (MACS), this particular training course proved to be the most popular being selected by some 360 garage technicians.

Andrew Page Ltd's managing director, Mark Roberts, said: "Quality training is one of the keys to achieving success in the automotive business and in the motor trade it is absolutely vital. Automotive technology is advancing at an incredible rate and being adopted by vehicle manufacturers very quickly so maintaining up-to-date skills and knowledge is imperative to service technicians. Andrew Page Ltd's Auto Education programme, which we continue to invest in and expand, addresses that need with recognised courses tailored to the industry's requirements."
